How do I enroll in Fidelity MyVoice®?
The next time you call, a representative will offer to enroll you. To enroll, you just need to give Fidelity consent to create your unique voiceprint.
What is a voiceprint?
A voiceprint is a set of characteristics associated with your unique voice pattern. This pattern is saved and will be used to verify your identity when you call us.
Does enrolling in Fidelity MyVoice® cost anything?
No, it's a service we offer at no charge.
Is Fidelity MyVoice® secure?
Yes, your voiceprint is secure. Fidelity MyVoice uses an encrypted digital representation of your voice, not a recording, which works only with our system. Your voiceprint cannot be duplicated or used elsewhere. Voiceprint verification is a form of biometric authentication that provides a very strong level of security.
To enroll in Fidelity MyVoice, will I need a specific phrase prepared?
No, Fidelity MyVoice is based on natural conversation, so there's no need for a password or security phrase. You'll need to have a brief conversation with a Fidelity representative, to enroll.
Will Fidelity MyVoice work if, in the future, my voice sounds a bit different?
Yes, Fidelity MyVoice will work if your voice sounds slightly different, owing to a cold, allergies, sore throat, or different phone devices. If there are extreme changes to your voice, we'll verify your identity by asking you security questions.
What if my voice changes over time?
When you call and talk to us, Fidelity MyVoice will analyze and adjust your voiceprint in our secure systems over time.
What if I sound a lot like someone else in my family? Is my voiceprint truly unique?
Just like your fingerprint, your voiceprint is uniquely yours.
Could someone use a recording of my voice to pose as me?
No, Fidelity MyVoice is designed to safeguard against voice recordings. Your voiceprint combines both the physical and behavioral characteristics of your voice, which are not available within a recording.
Will Fidelity MyVoice work if I'm calling from someplace noisy or if the phone connection is poor?
If excessive background noise interferes with your verification, we'll verify your identity by asking you security questions.
What happens if my voiceprint is not recognized?
If, for any reason, we're unable to verify your identity through your voiceprint, we'll verify your identity by asking you security questions.
Can my voiceprint be stolen?
No, your voiceprint is secure. We use a digital representation of your voice, not a recording, which works only with our system.
How many voiceprints can be on my account?
At this time, each participant account may have one voiceprint that is linked to their individual account profile: for example, a beneficiary or Power of Attorney will be unable to use a voiceprint to access the account.
Can I use Fidelity MyVoice if I have more than one account with Fidelity?
Until MyVoice is fully deployed to all of our phone representatives, you may be required to enter a password or answer security questions for certain accounts, such as an annuity or brokerage.
Can I set up Fidelity MyVoice when I'm in a Fidelity Investor Center?
