RIT is proud to bring you a plan to help you prepare for the retirement of your dreams. Eligible participants can contribute up to 80% on a pre-tax basis. Additionally, the Plan offers a number of investment options to provide you with an opportunity to diversify your investments as well as to select the appropriate investment option(s) for your goals.
Below is a performance summary of all the investments in your plan available through Fidelity. Click on an investment to view quarter-end returns, risks, fees and expenses.

These are products that can offer an easy-to-manage diversified portfolio in a single fund. They may contain many different asset classes, including stocks, bonds, and short-term investments. While different funds are arranged according to different asset allocations, what they all do is provide you with the opportunity to own a diversified portfolio with just one fund.
Depending on your retirement savings plan, there are two options to consider: Target Date Funds which are based on an anticipated retirement date and Target Allocation Funds that are based on a risk tolerance and time horizon.
Note: The performance data featured represents past performance, which is no guarantee of future results. Investment return and principal value of an investment will fluctuate, therefore you may have a gain or loss when you sell your shares. Current performance may be higher or lower than the performance data quoted. Click on an investment to view quarter end returns, risk, fees and expenses. 1,2,3,4.

Are you focused on building retirement savings or a retirement income stream?
Annuities are investment products issued by insurance companies that can help you save for retirement, generate a stream of income in retirement, or both. There are different types of annuities with different purposes.
Note: The performance data featured represents past performance, which is no guarantee of future results. A self-directed brokerage account allows you to make investments beyond those offered in your workplace retirement savings plan.
For more information or to open a self-directed brokerage account, first enroll in your Fidelity workplace retirement savings plan. Then visit www.netbenefits.com > Quick Links > BrokerageLink where you can open an account or review additional information, including the commission schedule for applicable fees and risks.
BrokerageLink includes investments beyond those in your plan's lineup. You should compare investments and share classes that are available in your plan's lineup with those available through BrokerageLink, and determine the available investment and share class that is appropriate for your situation. The plan fiduciary neither evaluates nor monitors the investments available through BrokerageLink. It is your responsibility to ensure that the investments you select are suitable for your situation, including your goals, time horizon, and risk tolerance.
Learn the plan basics - including eligibility - of each retirement savings plan offered by your employer.
You are eligible to enroll in the plan immediately. Your enrollment becomes effective once you indicate how much you'd like to contribute, also known as the deferral. You will generally begin to see your contributions deducted from your paycheck in the next pay period, or as soon as administratively possible.
If you are a new employee, you will be automatically enrolled in the retirement plan at a contribution rate of 2%. If you would like to increase your contribution or opt out of the plan, you must contact Fidelity at 800-343-0860 8:30 a.m. to midnight, Eastern time or log in to your NetBenefits account.
When you enroll in the Plan in NetBenefits, you can choose where you want your contributions directed and your retirement provider(s). Review your Investment Options and then select Enroll Now to complete the account opening steps. You have online access virtually 24/7 to make changes to your retirement savings account.
When you enroll, you will be asked to identify your beneficiary or beneficiaries who will inherit your account in the event of your death. You can update this information anytime by logging into NetBenefits.
You can contribute between 1% and 80% of your eligible pay, up to the annual IRS dollar limits. Click here to view the current year's contribution limit.
If you were hired on or after January 1, 2006, RIT will provide a match according to the following schedule:
Employee Contribution |
Employer Contribution |
2% |
4% |
3% |
6% |
4% |
8% |
5% |
9% |
If you would like to increase your contributions on an annual basis, you may want to consider enrolling in the Annual Increase Program - a feature of your plan. All you have to do is pick the amount and date of your increase - it's that simple. Choose an annual increase amount of 1% or 2% a year and time it to coincide with your annual review. Of course, you can change your options at any time.
If you are age 50 or older, you have the ability to make additional contributions to your plan, up to the current IRS dollar limits. View the limits here: IRS DOLLAR LIMITS
When you are "vested" in your savings, it effectively means the money is yours to keep. You are always 100% vested in all of your own contributions you make to your plan, as well as any earnings on them. Additionally, you are immediately 100% vested in RIT's contributions to your plan, as well as any earnings on them.
Your beneficiary or beneficiaries will inherit your account in the event of your death. You should consider identifying a beneficiary when you enroll in your plan, and updating the information if you experience a life-changing event such as a marriage, divorce, birth of a child, or death in the family.
Fidelity's Online Beneficiaries Service, available through NetBenefits offers a straightforward, convenient process that takes just minutes.
Go to 'Profile' in the navigation bar at the top of your NetBenefits page and click on the 'Summary tab' and then Beneficiaries'.
To review your current beneficiary designation at TIAA, or to designate your beneficiary for the first time:
If you have not yet registered for online access to your account, go to www.tiaa.org/rit and click Register for Access. First time users will need to create a User ID and Password.
TIAA and Fidelity Investments are independent entities and are not legally affiliated.
You are generally allowed to withdraw money from your plan when you leave your employer, retire or become permanently disabled. Also you may be eligible for a distribution if you have a financial hardship as defined by your plan. Withdrawals may be subject to income taxes and, if they occur prior to you becoming age 59˝, a 10% early withdrawal tax penalty.
For more information, call the Fidelity Retirement Services Center at 1-800-343-0860.

Although your plan account is intended for the future, you may borrow from your account for any reason. Generally, the RIT Retirement Savings Plan allows you to borrow up to 50% of your vested account balance.
The minimum loan amount is $1,000, and a loan must not exceed $50,000.
Loans are available through Fidelity Investments only, and only your own contributions are available for loans. RIT contributions to your plan are not eligible for loans; in addition, employee contributions you may have made to the pre-2012 RIT Basic Retirement Plan are not eligible for loans.
For more information on loans, please call Fidelity Investments at 800-343-0860.
If you have retirement savings in another employer's plan or in an IRA, you can generally roll it into the RIT Retirement Savings Plan. This may help make it easier to manage your savings and plan for your goals but there are several options. Be sure to consider all your available options and the applicable fees and features of each before moving your retirement assets.
Contact Fidelity Investments for details on rolling over your account balance in an IRA or an employer sponsored retirement plan to your current employer's retirement plan. You should also discuss with your tax advisor the impact of rolling contributions from a prior retirement plan or from an IRA to your current employer's retirement plan. You can also make an appointment with a Fidelity Retirement Planner or stop by one of Fidelity's Investor Centers.
Note: You are permitted to roll over eligible pretax contributions from another 401(k) plan, 401(a) plan, 403(b) plan, governmental 457(b) retirement plan account, or eligible pretax contributions from conduit individual retirement accounts (rollover IRAs) and certain non-conduit individual retirement accounts (traditional IRAs, Simplified Employee Pension plans, and "SIMPLE" IRA distributions made more than two years from the date you first participated in the SIMPLE IRA). A conduit IRA is one that contains only money rolled over from an employer sponsored retirement plan that has not been mixed with regular IRA contributions.
Online, on the phone, or in person, you have access to your account the way you want it. Log in to NetBenefits® virtually 24/7 or call Fidelity at 800-343-0860 to speak with a representative or use the automated voice response system.
TIAA: Call 800-842-2252 or log in to your account by selecting TIAA in the drop down box at the top of the page under Your Account and follow the prompts to the TIAA website.

** The current yield of the money market mutual fund listed above reflects the current earnings of the fund, while the total return refers to a specific past holding period.
*** The yield without applicable waivers or reimbursements, whenever Fidelity is subsidizing all or a portion of the fund's expenses as of the current reporting period. Absent such waivers or reimbursements, the returns would have been lower. Waivers and/or reimbursements may be discontinued any time.
Investing involves risk, including risk of loss.
Footnotes 1, 2, 3 and 4 below pertain to the performance tables located on the Investment Options tab:
1 Stock markets are volatile and can fluctuate significantly in response to company, industry, political, regulatory, market, or economic developments. Investing in stock involves risks, including the loss of principal.
2Total returns are historical and include change in share price and reinvestment of dividends and capital gains, if any. These figures do not include the effect of sales charges, if any, as these fees are waived for contributions made through your retirement plan. If sales charges were included, returns would have been lower. Life of fund figures are from the inception date to the period shown. For unitized funds, the inception date shown may be that of the fund's underlying investment option. For non-mutual fund pools and trusts whose strategies may be offered to multiple clients, and whose returns may be based on a composite, the inception date shown may be the beginning date of the composite's returns.
3In general, the bond market is volatile, and fixed income securities carry interest rate risk. (As interest rates rise, bond prices usually fall, and vice versa. This effect is usually more pronounced for longer-term securities.) Fixed income securities also carry inflation risk, liquidity risk, call risk, and credit and default risks for both issuers and counterparties. Unlike individual bonds, most bond funds do not have a maturity date, so holding them until maturity to avoid losses caused by price volatility is not possible.
4Target Date Funds are an asset mix of stocks, bonds and other investments that automatically becomes more conservative as the fund approaches its target retirement date and beyond. Principal invested is not guaranteed.
