You’re getting divorced

This is a qualified life event.

You may need to address your medical, dental, and vision insurance midyear. Perhaps you’re enrolled in your spouse’s plan right now and need to start Disney coverage. Maybe you’re covering your children on a Disney plan and need to switch them to your spouse’s coverage. You may want to adjust your life insurance coverage, and your Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account contributions may need to change. If you’re eligible for these benefits and want to make changes, review and update them now. Just go to NetBenefits to get started.

Remove your spouse’s contact information for Disney perks and rewards.

Once your divorce is finalized, your spouse is no longer eligible for Disney perks and rewards. Visit D Tools HR to remove your spouse’s information from your profile.

Make sure your benefits will go to the right people if something happens to you.

Getting divorced may change who you want to designate as a beneficiary. If you’re eligible for and enrolled in life and AD&D insurance, or if you have a Disney-sponsored retirement savings plan, update your beneficiaries on NetBenefits. If you have a Health Savings Account, update your beneficiaries with Optum.

You likely have legal concerns.

Eligible employees and Cast Members can enroll in the Disney legal plan through MetLife Legal. The legal plan grants you access to network attorneys for legal assistance, often at no additional cost. Note: Neither you nor your spouse can use the legal plan to retain a divorce attorney.

Care.com can help you find an attorney in your community. Care.com can also help you find a divorce attorney near you. For assistance, call Care.com at 1-866-574-7229 or visit their website for Disney employees and Cast Members.

This is a tough time.

Disney encourages you to take advantage of the Cigna Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to talk through it. You have up to 10 free counseling sessions with a licensed professional. Schedule an appointment by calling 1-800-952-6676 or visiting the Cigna EAP website for Disney employees and Cast Members.
