You or your dependent is turning 26

You: You’re no longer eligible for your parents’ health insurance.

If you are eligible for Disney’s health plans, Review your options and enroll now. Losing other coverage is a qualified life event.

If you are not eligible for Disney’s health plans, check out the Health Insurance Marketplace to find affordable health plans available in your area.

Your adult children: They cannot be covered on your Disney health insurance, with the exception of a physically or mentally disabled child.*

Your adult child who is covered by Disney benefits will be removed from medical, dental, and vision coverage on the last day of the month in which they turn 26. You’ll get a package in the mail offering COBRA continuation coverage. If your child’s loss of eligibility for Disney health coverage means that you’ll be the only one enrolled, you’ll have a few more things to consider. For instance, the annual contribution limit for your Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Accounts, will decrease. Review and update your coverage in NetBenefits.

If you’re not eligible for Disney health benefits, no action is required.

Your dependent turning age 26 can visit the Health Insurance Marketplace to find affordable coverage in their area.

*There is a process to continue coverage for a child who is or became physically or mentally disabled before age 26 and was covered under a Disney plan before reaching the age limits for coverage. The process to determine disability requires review prior to coverage ending. Contact the DBC at 1-800-354-3970 for assistance.
