Expect to be awake in the middle of the night for a little while.

Sleep can be hard to come by when you’re pregnant or have a new little one at home. Use the mindfulness resources Disney offers for help falling asleep—and even sleep-training your child once they’re old enough.

Just in the planning stages? Learn about Disney’s Family Building Benefit.

For assistance conceiving a child, Disney-sponsored medical plans offer IVF, IUI, donor eggs and sperm, medication management, and coordination with fertility clinics and specialty pharmacies. Adoption and surrogacy support is also available through WIN. No matter which path you choose for your family, Disney provides you with a lifetime reimbursement of up to $75,000 for eligible expenses. When you and your partner are ready, your medical plan is here to help—and so is WIN.

Getting to know your new family member is pretty important! Take advantage of Pregnancy Leave and Child Bonding Leave once your child is about to arrive. Explore what Disney offers.

Nursing parents have Disney’s full support.

We believe that working mothers shouldn’t have to choose between parenthood and a career. That’s why Disney provides two essential tools via Care.com: access to lactation consultants at all stages of nursing help and breast milk shipping after returning to work. Make sure to check whether lactation rooms are available at your work location.

Arranging child care? The earlier, the better.

In many locations, child care facilities have long wait lists. No matter how airtight your plan is, things will come up (kids and babysitters both get sick). And for that long-term plan? Consider making contributions to a Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account for some tax advantages. No matter your child care strategy, Disney has your back.

Welcoming a new child into your household is a qualified life event.

Your kids—the new ones too—are eligible for health plan coverage (medical, dental, and vision) if you are. You may also want to increase your life insurance benefit and contributions to your Health Care Flexible Spending Account or Health Savings Account. If you’re eligible for these benefits, review and update them now.

Make sure your benefits will go to the right people if something happens to you.

If you’re eligible for and enrolled in life and AD&D insurance, or if you have a Disney-sponsored retirement savings plan, update your beneficiaries on NetBenefits. If you have a Health Savings Account, update your beneficiaries with Optum.

Bundles of joy? Yes! Bundles of stress? Also yes!

Babies cry. Diapers smell bad. Kids pepper you with questions. Children rely on you for everything, which can feel like a lot of pressure sometimes. Don’t forget to take a few moments for yourself occasionally. You deserve the mental reset.

Individual or couples counseling will keep you both on track.

Less time spent alone. You found out that your parenting styles are different. You’d both do anything for a nap, and maybe you’re both a little crankier than usual. Who’s turn is it to check on the little one? Each of these feelings is completely normal and a good reason to contact the Cigna Employee Assistance Program (EAP). You have up to 10 free counseling sessions with a licensed professional. Schedule an appointment by calling 1-800-952-6676 or visiting the Cigna Well-Being website for Disney employees and Cast Members.

Kids cost money.

It’s about more than another mouth to feed. You’ll want to plan for child care, health care, and, eventually, educational expenses. Fortunately, Disney provides many financial planning, budgeting, and savings resources through Fidelity and Partners’ Federal Credit Union to set your family up for success.
