Make sure to check whether lactation rooms are available at your work location.

In many locations, child care facilities have long wait lists. No matter how airtight your plan is, things will come up (kids and babysitters both get sick). And for that long-term plan? Your kids—the new ones too—are eligible for health plan coverage (medical, dental, and vision) if you are. You may also want to increase your life insurance benefit and contributions to your Health Care Flexible Spending Account or Health Savings Account.
